The owner of Mexican mini group Benito’s Hat has launched what is describes as an ‘edgy, pizza slice brand’.

Called Slice & Dice, the debut site has opened on the lower ground floor of Oxford’s Westgate Centre within its Social Street Food area.

It has been created by Mike Pearson, founder and CEO of Elangeni Hospitality Group (EHG), which operates hospitality brands Benito’s Hat, with locations in Oxford and at Luton Airport, and Hinkley-based boutique cafe bar Moko.

Slice & Dice serves an eight-strong pizza offer, comprising four by the slice and four as whole 20-inch pizzas, with pizzas made using stronger flour to make sure the dough is portable.

EHG says it is also actively looking for second location for Moko in the Midlands.

Slice & Dice is one a number of recent entrants into the pizza category in recent months, joining the likes of Alley Cats, which is owned and operated by ATFC, which is also behind the Angus Steakhouse and Muriel’s Kitchen brands.
