On the Knightsbridge department store’s lower ground floor, Harrods Social by Jason Atherton launched in 2021 offering British cuisine in a ‘relaxed yet elegant setting’.
The closure comes as Atherton prepares to launch a gourmet hot dog concession within Harrods Dining Hall.
Launching in early August, Hot Dogs by Three Darlings (a reference to the chef’s upcoming Chelsea restaurant) will be a 25-seat restaurant that will serve a range of five gourmet hot dogs, inspired by flavours from around the world, alongside a selection of fries, sundaes, milkshakes, Martinis, champagne, wine and beer.
It will be located in the middle of the Dining Hall occupying some of the space that was until recently inhabited by high-end sushi counter Masa, which continues to trade but has been reduced in size.
The new concept is one of at least five restaurants being launched by Atherton and his wife Irha within the coming months including Three Darlings - which is just down the road from Harrods on Pavilion Road, Sael on St James’ Market, Row on 5 on Mayfair's Savile Row which is understood to be being headed up by for The Ritz chef Spencer Metzger and an as yet unnamed project on Mayfair's Bruton Place.
In March, Atherton announced that Pollen Street Social will close on 31 July.
“After announcing the closure of Pollen Street Social in March, now feels like the right time to reveal our expansion of The Social Company in London. We think that these four very different offerings will each appeal and bring distinct culinary experiences to our guests.
