Market Halls secures fourth London site
The Gees Court-backed food hall operator will open a 11,000sq ft space prominently located in the new 1.35 acre piazza at Paddington. The new hall will house eight food traders, two bars, an outdoor terrace and have seating for 500 customers.
The site is scheduled to open in the final quarter of this year.
Market Halls currently operates three sites in London, in Victoria, Oxford Street and Canary Wharf. It has reported a 155% increase in revenue to £22m in the 12 months to July 2023, which it says sets the stage for its 'ambitious plans to cultivate new food halls across the UK'.
“Securing our fourth venue in such an iconic London location is hugely exciting for us and we are very excited to be working closely with the team at Paddington Square as part of such an exciting development,” says Andy Lewis-Pratt, Market Halls CEO.
“Our team is working hard behind the scenes to make this the best Market Halls yet.”
Market Halls will join the first wave of tenants to open at Paddington Square, the Renzo-Piano-designed building, which will house more than 40 shops and restaurants. This will include a restaurant street with alfresco dining and west London’s highest rooftop restaurant and terrace that will occupy the 17th and 18th floors of Paddington Square.
Market Halls also plans to unveil its first regional site later this year in York and says it has a ‘robust pipeline’ of two to three sites set to open in the upcoming year.
Target cities include Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
