Scottish operator Di Maggio’s Restaurant Group (DRG) has bought two-strong Glasgow-based Paesano Pizza brand as well as well as Sugo Pasta.

DRG, which is owned by Mario Gizzi and Tony Conetta, has bought Paesano from restaurateur Paul Stevenson for an eight-figure sum, according to The Herald.

Stevenson opened the first Paesano on Miller Street in 2015. A second restaurant followed on the city’s Great Western Road in 2017.

In 2019 he launched Sugo Pasta, also on Miller Street.

DRG, which owns the Di Maggio’s, Café Andaluz, and Amarone brands, is one of Scotland’s largest independent restaurant groups. Other sites under the group’s ownership include Cadiz in Edinburgh, Atlantic Brasserie in Glasgow, and The Citizen in Glasgow.
