‘Europe’s biggest purpose-built food hall’ opens in Sheffield

Blend group, which is behind food halls Cutlery Works in Sheffield, Kargo MKT in Manchester, and Global Provision Outlet in Liverpool, has opened a 27,000sq ft food hall in Sheffield.

Called Cambridge Street Collective, its is described as being ‘Europe’s biggest purpose-built food hall and is located on the corner of Cambridge Street and Wellington Street in the city. Set over three floors, it has space for 20 kitchens as well as four bars, outdoor seating, and a rooftop terrace.

The new food hall serves cuisines from across the globe, with a particular focus on the food of Asia.

Food partners at the new venue, which opened yesterday (23 May), include Asia Thai Street Food; Malatang concept Tang; modern Mexican El Chappo; Zaika e Pakistan; Hong Kongese Send Noods; sushi and Korean BBQ concept Kyoyo; Vietnamese Vnam; and Little Penang, which promises authentic Malaysian food.

It also houses highball bar Kumo and coffee bar Locale Coffee with spaces also given over to private dining, a kids play area, and a games room.

In addition, the space is home to the Blend Culinary Foundation and a Community Kitchen. Equipped with 18 workstations it will run activities from tutored tastings, to master classes, workshops and demonstrations with profits going to a charity aimed at reducing food poverty.
