Beleaguered nightclub operator Rekom UK says it is ‘committed to further developing and growing the business’ after splitting from its Scandinavian owner.

The group has separated from its owner, the Danish Rekom Group, and will now be controlled by its main lender ACG, the global investment group.

Under the new ownership model, Rekom UK will be renamed and trade as NEOS Hospitality.

The venues and day-to-day operations will not be affected by the change in ownership.

It comes after the group, which is one of the UK's largest nightclub operators, closed 17 sites across its estate back in February following the completion of a pre-pack administration.

Russell Quelch, former operations director and country director for Rekom UK, will lead NEOS Hospitality as chief executive officer.

Group chairman Peter Marks and the existing management team will continue in their current roles.

“We are excited to embark on this new chapter,” Quelch said.

“The team has laid a solid foundation and, together with our new owner, we are committed to further developing and growing the business and achieving success across the UK.”

Rekom UK was previously known as Deltic Group before it collapsed into administration in late 2020 following the Covid-19 pandemic. It was later bought by Scandinavian nightclub operator Rekom.

NEOS Hospitality’s portfolio encompasses 24 sites across England and Wales under brands including Heidi’s Bier Bar, Proud Mary and Bar & Beyond.
