Andy Jones will open a second Jones & Sons restaurant and cocktail bar in London this June.

Located within the Elmhurst estate just off the high road in South Woodford, the new site will take over the space previously occupied by Elmo’s Pizza following a full renovation of the site and garden terrace.

Split over two floors, the new restaurant, bar and events venue will have space for up to 150 covers inside and 50 covers on the outside terrace. The upper ground floor will feature a bar area and two distinct dining spaces, while the lower ground floor features an open kitchen with intimate chef table, cocktail bar, and a versatile function room catering to private dinner and events.

It will join Jones & Sons restaurant and cocktail bar in Dalston, which was the restaurant shoot location for the Stephen Graham film Boiling Point.

Overseeing the food menu at the new site will be head chef at Jones & Sons’ site in Dalston, Kieran Hope. His menu will feature seasonal British produce with dishes to include oyster Rockefeller; tuna ceviche with strawberry ponzu and sesame; caesar salad with croûtes, parmesan, smoky bacon and anchovy mayo; crab tagliatelle with chilli and spring onion; tempura courgette flower, goats’ cheese and wild honey; honey miso cod with apple dashi; and poached pear and almond frangipane tart with chantilly cream.

It will also serve a Saturday brunch menu that will include wild mushrooms, truffle oil and poached eggs on sourdough; and buttermilk fried chicken, waffles, fried eggs and maple syrup, and a Sunday roast menu.

The restaurant’s interior will feature natural plaster-wash walls, dark ceilings and floors, stone tables, marble bar tops, and distressed tan leather sofas. There will also be a large farmhouse-style table next to the open plan kitchen on the lower ground floor.

“I’m really bloody proud of this latest venture. It’s been a long time coming and perhaps it’s age and experience, but I’ve found myself drawn to more varied and comforting dining these past years post pandemic. So while my heart will always belong to Hackney, my head is constantly looking for a logical progression, and all roads lead to South Woodford, as they say,” says Jones

“My ultimate goal with the E18 site is to create a sense of home away from home for our guests, but deliver it in true Jones & Sons’ style. It may sound cliché, but there’s something special about seeing people relax into their seats, knowing they’re in for a memorable experience.

“Whether it’s a romantic date, a casual catch-up with friends, indulging in a Sunday Roast with all the trimmings and wine, or letting loose over brunch, I want everyone to feel welcomed and cared for at Jones & Sons, South Woodford.”
