The group behind Six by Nico has unveiled two new Edinburgh projects that together total a £2m investment into the Scottish capital.

The city’s second Six by Nico restaurant is set to open next month closely followed by Six Company's more recently launched cocktail bar concept Somewhere by Nico (pictured above). Both will be located on Queensferry Street in Edinburgh’s West End.

Six Company - which is led by chef restaurateur Nico Simeone - says that after six years of operations in Scotland’s capital and the opening of sixteen sites throughout the UK and Ireland since 2017, it ‘is moving into a new phase with a new look for Edinburgh customers’.

The group’s current Six by Nico location on Hanover Street remains open.

Somewhere by Nico Edinburgh is billed as an innovative cocktail experience that seeks to ‘redefine what a bar and cocktail experience looks like by blending storytelling, multi-sensory mixology and experience together’.

The first location launched in Glasgow in January 2024 and is inspired by Six by Nico, which rotates its £65 themed menus every six weeks.

In common with Six Company’s main growth brand, Somewhere by Nico changes its menu every six week, offering a six-stage cocktail experience inspired by a ‘themed world’ that will become Somewhere.

“Our team is driven daily by the challenge to constantly create and reinvent. We are dedicated to being different, never resting on our laurels, and continuously striving to create the best customer experiences,” Simone says. “Our second Six by Nico site in Edinburgh City Centre underlines our commitments to the city and provides our guests with more dining options, as well as the introduction of Somewhere by Nico, our latest brand that reinvents the conventional cocktail experience.”

Since launching its first restaurant in Glasgow in 2017, the group says it has served over 12 million dishes in sixteen city locations across the UK and Ireland, as well as creating 49 different tasting menus for customers to dine on.

Around 60 new jobs will be created across both Six by Nico Edinburgh West End and Somewhere by Nico Edinburgh projects.
