Pret A Manger has been forced to refund some users of its Club Pret subscription service after technical issues meant they were unable to access its app.

It comes after Pret introduced a crackdown on account sharing last month, which means subscribers now have to use the Pret app in order to claim their drinks rather than by accessing a QR code.

The loyalty programme, which was first introduced back in 2020, allows subscribers to claim up to five barista-prepared drinks per day, as well as a 10% on food, for a set price of £30 per month.

Last week, The Telegraph reported that some subscribers to Club Pret were experiencing technical issues with the app and were unable to claim their drinks, with a few taking to social media to complain.

Pret has now told The Telegraph that it has given refunds to some customers who have struggled to log in since the changes came into effect.

A spokesman for the company said: “Since we made this change in March, our team have either given refunds or applied the Club Pret discount as normal to any customers who have genuinely struggled to log in.”
