Simon Rogan’s seasonal on-farm dining experience will return this summer for its second year.

Based within Umbel Restaurant Group’s Our Farm in the Lake District, A Day at Our Farm begins with a farm tour followed by dinner al fresco overlooking the polytunnels and growing beds.

Set to take place on some Mondays from June through to September, the experience will welcome up to 16 guests per sitting, from mid afternoon onwards.

A Day at Our Farm is led by head farmer John Rowlands and Our Farm head chef Liam Fitzpatrick.

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the vast array of produce - from micro-herbs to brassicas, flowers, veg and fruit - cultivated by the farm team, whilst enjoying snacks served en route according to each growing bed.

The pair will also share details on the group’s sustainability practices including its mission to become zero waste as well as anecdotes about day-to-day life on the farm.

Following the tour, guests will take a seat at the Our Farm communal table where a sharing feast will incorporate the best of what’s available only metres from the dining table.

Dishes will include braised lamb shoulder finished over coals; fresh and pickled radish, mint, pine nuts, Lilliput capers, Spenwood cheese and lemon thyme dressing; salt baked kohlrabi dressed in spinach butter; and grilled fermented beans and cabbage with spring onions and ramson honey dressing.

Established by Rogan in 2011 to ensure access to quality seasonal ingredients in line with his farm-to-table philosophy, Our Farm has since tripled in size, supplying the high-profile chef's Lake District restaurants L’Enclume, Rogan & Co, Henrock and Aulis Cartmel as well as Aulis in London.

Prices for A Day at Our Farm start at £150 per person.
