Cameron House has transformed its The Boat House restaurant into a new Italian concept following a £2m investment.

La Vista will open within the five-star luxury resort on Loch Lomond on Monday 18 March and will offer all-day dining alongside a deli and food shop.

The space has been redesigned into a modern, light and airy 138-cover restaurant, informal mercato with a dining area for 50 guests and a private dining room for up to 24 people.

An al fresco terrace launching in the summer will provide an additional 120 covers.

Open seven days a week, from breakfast through to dinner, head chef, Mark Pawsey’s main menu celebrates authentic Italian cuisine and features dishes rooted in traditional recipes with a modern touch. The menu will be divided into small aperitivo plates and cicchetti, larger signature mains, handmade pastas and wood-fired pizzas cooked in a Valoriani oven.

Classic signature mains will include grilled swordfish with artichoke tapenade, deep fried anchovies and caper berries; and chicken Milanese spaghetti napolitana.

“We are delighted to unveil our newest dining experience, La Vista, at Cameron House,” says Michael Lavizani, resort director at Cameron House Resort.

“Reflecting on the rich history of the estate, the restaurant takes inspiration from the breath-taking vistas of Loch Lomond and the adventures of Tobias Smollett, the renowned Scottish author whose family once owned Cameron House hotel. La Vista celebrates the vibrant culinary heritage of Italy, curated by our skilled chefs and management team. We look forward to bringing a touch of la dolce vita to the resort.”

The mercato will offer an array of artisanal Italian produce and bespoke hampers, from store cupboard ingredients such as olive oils, pesto, rice and vinegars to cured meats and Italian cheeses and wines.

La Vista joins the resort’s other dining venues including The Cameron Grill, The Tavern, The Clubhouse, The Monarch Room, Lobby Bar and whisky bar Great Scots Bar.
