Gino D’Acampo’s First Street Bar & Kitchen restaurant at INNSiDE Manchester Hotel will change its name to Gino D’Acampo, Manchester early next year following a £800,000 refurbishment.

Billed as ‘premium Italian restaurant and bar’, the restaurant will be run by Steven Walker’s Upmarket Leisure, which has brands including Luciano by Gino D’Acampo, Gino D’Acampo, 360 Sky Bar, Bar & Kitchen, Radio Rooftop and Marconi Bar.

The opening will be the celebrity chef’s third collaboration with INNSiDE by Meliá, which is part of Spain’s largest hotel group Meliá Hotels International.

Designed D’Acampo, the menu will be ‘fitting for its location’ encompassing classic Italian dishes prepared from scratch with ‘a focus on quality and ingredient provenance’.

Options will include ‘real’ Neapolitan pizzas, signature dishes and a selection of ‘table theatre plates’.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to announce plans for Gino D’Acampo at INNSiDE Manchester,” the chefs says. “I have a long relationship with the city having opened one of my first restaurants here almost ten years ago and I’m delighted to return to the heart of Manchester, as planned.  It has always been our intention to open a Gino here, at the beautiful INNSiDE Manchester hotel, and I’m looking forward to launching this early next year.”

Earlier this year, D’Acampo’s Luciano restaurant in the Chester village of Alderley Edge was sold to San Carlo Group.

At the time, Walker said the deal was part of the group’s strategy to focus on central London and major UK cities.
