Fast-growing grab-and-go Korean street food brand Bunsik will open a fifth venue later this year.

It will open a site at Westfield Stratford City on the lower ground level  this December in what will be the group's fourth London venue.

In a first for the group, Bunsik Stratford will serve a range of vegetarian options, including the debut of its first veggie burger. Other options will include its signature Korean street food classics, including Korean corn dogs, for which the brand became known on social media; kimbap; ddukbokki; and Korean fried chicken.

The opening will be the fifth venue for Bunsik, following the brand’s first venture outside of London in Manchester this summer. It also operates sites on Charing Cross Road in London, which launched in 2021, and in Embankment and Camden.

Bunsik's owner Maguro Group has chosen the brand as its first franchise project and has a vision to open 20 Bunsik restaurants by the year 2026.

The group says it is considering several UK cities for expansion as well as further locations within London.

"Bunsik has been flourishing and we're gearing up to launch it as a franchise next year. We recently opened our first site outside of London in Manchester, and its success has surpassed all expectations," says director Jae Cho.

"We have selected Bunsik for franchising due to its simplicity in menu offerings, an attractive price point, and its appeal to the younger generation.

"This next location for us within Westfield Stratford is an exciting one as we are trying a new food court model. We do so with great confidence; having this fantastic opportunity to partner with a global brand as well renowned as Westfield."
