Jamavar Dubai will launch later this year and be helmed by culinary director Surender Mohan.
It will be the third international outpost for the brand, which was first established at The Leela Palace in Bengaluru, India, in 2001 and went on to launch on Mount Street in London’s Mayfair in 2016 and in Doha in 2021.
The London restaurant has held a Michelin star since 2022.
Jamavar Dubai will be followed in early 2024 with the launch of MiMi Mei Fair Dubai, which will mark the first international outpost for the opulent Chinese restaurant that made its debut on Curzon Street in Mayfair in September 2021.
As with the London site, MiMi Mei Fair Dubai will fuse flavours and recipes from China, Hong Kong and Singapore and ‘blend oriental glamour of old-world China with modern day eclecticism’.
Both Dubai restaurants have been designed by Tom Strother of Fabled Studio in collaboration with Nair.
“Dubai is renowned as a worldwide destination for the gastronomic connoisseur, and we are delighted to be introducing Jamavar and MiMi Mei Fair to such a dynamic culinary stage,” says Nair, who founded LSL Capital with her father Dinesh.
“I am incredibly passionate about what I do. My fondest memories have been around the dining table and my endeavour is to bring those joys forward by way of my collection of restaurants for others to enjoy, embrace and experience.”
LSL Capital also operates Mayfair restaurants Bombay Bustle, KOYN, and Socca.
Back in June, Nair, whose grandfather founded the Indian luxury hotel chain Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, was named Restaurateur of the Year at the National Restaurant Awards 2023.
