The UK’s first pop-up air fryer restaurant will open in London later this month in Shoreditch.

Tapping into the growing popularity of the kitchen gadget, the new restaurant uses refurbished air fryers from eBay and will be led by food author and self-confessed ‘Air Fryer King’ Nathan Anthony.

It will serve a menu of 12 small plates in total - three starters, four mains, three desserts – served over the course two hours, with diners given tips on how to recreate them at home. Dishes will include include starters of crispy salt and pepper squid; and nduja-stuffed arancini balls; mains of lamb chops with a mint sauce; steak tacos with an avocado cream; and miso glazed aubergine; and desserts such as peaches with ice-cream, honey, and pistachios; Creme Egg croissant balls; and Smore dip with banana and chocolate crepe bites.

“Having started as a home cook in lockdown, opening a real-world pop-up restaurant to showcase a tangible way consumers can save costs this winter is a dream come true,” says Anthony.

“These speedy counter-top machines can whip up a dish in record time with lower energy use and costs - and despite the name, they’re useful for far more than frying! In fact, as a low-oil cooking method, they're one of the healthiest – and tastiest - ways to cook at home.”

The pop-up is being launched by eBay to educate shoppers on the cost and energy savings that can be made by choosing refurbished kitchen appliances, as well as the positive impact it has on the planet.

Tickets are free, and will be available to book from 20 September.

The restaurant will open on 27 September at 100 Hoxton Street
