Middle East-founded dessert bar KAYU Bakehouse to make London debut
Dessert bar concept KAYU Bakehouse will launch its first London site next month following success in the Middle East.

In Mayfair’s, Shepherd Market the ‘artisan dessert boutique’ will offer ‘French desserts created using only natural ingredients’.

Available to eat in and take away, options will include raspberry cream cheese croissants; double chocolate brioche; mosaic roll cake; and eclairs. Guests can also enjoy a selection of ‘adventurous’ macarons, tarts and travel cakes.

The chef behind the brand is Karim Bourgi, who trained in France and was involved in the launch of La Maison Du Chocolat and Hermes Paris Cafe in Dubai prior to founding KAYU Bakehouse in the UAE city in 2021.

The brand has expanded quickly and now has a further four locations in the Middle East (three in the Saudi capital Riyadh and one in Abu Dhabi).

In keeping with the rest of the group, the Mayfair site will have a luxe feel with 'Golden Spider' marble furnishings imported from Greece.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of our first UK boutique in London’s Mayfair,” Bourgi says. ”We are bringing our signature menu and passion for pastries to the heart of London and we cannot wait to welcome everyone to KAYU Bakehouse.”
