Andrew Sheridan has acquired a coffee shop, bar, and brunch venue The Garrity in Worcestershire’s Barnt Green.

The chef already has a presence in the village with his Black & Green and restaurant.

Former owners Alex and Jules Smith will remain part of the business, with Sheridan and has business partners Sam and Emma Morgan ‘supporting and developing its growth’ as well as enhancing its food offer.

The acquisition brings the chef’s total number of ventures to four, also joining his flagship 8 By Andrew Sheridan in Liverpool and bistro OXA in The Wirral.

Born in Liverpool but raised in North Wales, Sheridan headed up The Stargazy Inn in Port Isaac and Sosban in Llanelli before overseeing two ventures at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.

8 By Andrew Sheridan, the more ambitious of the two, recently relocated to Liverpool’s Cavern Club.

The restaurant offers an ambitious menu themed around the number eight with dishes including wagyu beef with pickles and truffle; cod with horseradish and dill; and Grana Padano custard with apple caramel.
