The group behind London restaurants Kutir in Chelsea and Manthan in Mayfair is to open a destination restaurant and bar in Knightsbridge this autumn.

Called Geode, it will be set in a three-storey townhouse on Beauchamp Place and will focus on open-grill cooking with Mediterranean and Asian influences.

The 7,000sq ft venue will span three floors of a Georgian townhouse with guests met with a cocktail bar on entry before making their way up to a split-level mezzanine featuring a conservatory with a theatre kitchen. On the floor above will be an additional late night dining area.

The kitchen will be led by executive chef Francesco Scala, who will draw inspiration from Mediterranean and Asian influences. Geode will serve a split menu showcasing seasonal dishes using local ingredients, highlights of which will include beef tartare on roasted bone marrow; saam de papada iberico; and mock duck.

There will also be a selection of south Asian and Japanese dishes created by Japanese chef Yuka Aoyama, formerly of Nobu, Roka and Annabel’s.

During the evening the conservatory will transform with a curtain in place to ‘close the kitchen’ creating an evening lounge area. The upper restaurant will stay open till late, while below the bar and lounge area will host live music and DJ performances.

Geode is being launched Arrow Hospitality and Neha Beriwala and will be led by Salvatore Broccu and Marios Louvaris, formerly of Novikov Group. It is set to open on 14 September.
