Pret A Manger has launched its first location in Luxembourg, the latest international market for it to enter amid a global expansion drive.

The food-to-go brand has opened a site in the central district of Ville-Haute in Luxembourg City, within the Royal-Hamilius shopping centre.

“Opening our first Pret A Manger in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a fantastic moment for Pret,” says Stéphane Klein, managing director of Pret A Manger Europe.

“We are all very optimistic, and I hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming many customers in this first shop to build together the success of Pret in Luxembourg.”

The site will hold 25 seats inside, alongside 20 seats on the outdoor terrace, and bring 12 to 15 jobs to the local community.

It marks the latest stage in Pret's international expansion drive, and follows the launch of the chain's first store in India last month.

Back in September 2021, Pret announced plans to double the size of its estate within five years and expand into five new overseas markets by the end of 2023.

Since than the group has signed a raft of new franchise agreements to launch into new territories including Canada, Spain and Portugal, while expanding its presence in the UAE and USA, alongside the UK.
