Endo Kazutoshi and Misha Zelman will launch a Japanese restaurant on the roof of London’s The OWO hotel later this year.

The as yet untitled restaurant will be part of the pair’s rapidly expanding Creative Restaurant Group, joining Mayfair’s HUMO, Notting Hill’s SUMI and upcoming Mayfair restaurant 20 Berkeley.

Kazutoshi and Zelman’s latest will have a 60 seater dining room, a chef’s table, outside terrace and private dining room situated in one of the Whitehall building’s turrets.

Guests here will enjoy panoramic views across St James’s Park, The Mall and onto Buckingham Palace.

Also planned is a ground floor sake bar, which features 28 seats and can be accessed directly from Whitehall Place.

“We are delighted to be joining The OWO. Our new restaurant and sake bar will be an ode to the traditions of Japanese cooking with my personal touch. We look forward to sharing a piece of history with our guests all in the setting of this awe-inspiring building,” says Kazutoshi, whose flagship Endo at the Rotunda hold a Michelin star and is also listed on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 places to eat in the UK.

The OWO, formerly the Old War Office, will have nine restaurants and three bars including three concepts from Mauro Colagreco, Italian restaurant Paper Moon and France’s Café Lapérouse.

Madani Sow, CEO of development management company WDS, added: “We are truly honoured to be partnering with one of London’s most distinguished Japanese chefs. His exceptional skills and technique have seen him gain a loyal following and recognition at the highest level. Creative Restaurant Group’s new restaurant and bar will be a natural fit with the world-class chefs and restaurateurs at The OWO.”

The independent restaurants at The OWO are set to open at the same time as Raffles London at The OWO, which is slated for 'this summer'.
