Apricity in London and Crocadon in Cornwall are among four new restaurants to have been awarded a Green Star in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland 2023.

CULTURE in Falmouth and Osip in Bruton were also awarded a Green Star at the Michelin star revelation ceremony, which took place this evening (27 March) at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire.

Introduced in 2021, the Michelin Green Star highlights restaurants at the forefront of the industry when it comes to their sustainable practices.

According to Michelin, these restaurants 'offer dining experiences that combine culinary excellence with outstanding eco-friendly commitments – and are a source of inspiration both for keen foodies and the hospitality industry as a whole'.

With the four new additions, a total of 29 restaurants are now recognised with Green Stars in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland.

“The addition of four new Michelin Green Stars to the selection is also a clear illustration of the growing desire within the restaurant industry for more sustainable gastronomy,” says Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides.

A total of three new restaurants received two Michelin stars in this year’s guide, with a further 20 gaining one star.

Alex Dilling at Hotel Café Royal achieved the rare feat of going straight into the Guide with two stars, despite only opening last year.
