German street food concept Döner Shack is to make its debut in London with the opening of its first innovation restaurant.

Opening later this month on Baker Street the new restaurant will be spread across two floors and will feature a state-of-the-art kitchen with robotic kebab cutters and a custom-designed travelator that will transport the food to customers.

There will also be several self-ordering kiosks and a milkshake station, where customers can choose from six different flavoured signature milkshakes.

It will have space for 35 covers and will serve a menu of more than 15 signature dishes that will include döner and shawarma and boneless chicken schnitzel bites with sauces and rubs in a variety of flavours and different heat scales.

“Baker street is our first innovation restaurant, and we’re so excited to bring a new culinary sensation to London,” says Sanjeev Sanghera, co-founder and managing director at Döner Shack.

“We are passionate about changing the perception of the late-night kebab scene in the UK. I believe we have created a truly exceptional place of fun and creativity for Baker Street’s diners. The energy of the surrounding area matches our brand’s ethos perfectly, and we can’t wait to give people the chance to experience our flavourful and convenient food and drink that fits perfectly in this location.”

The arrival in the capital comes after the launch of restaurants in Manchester, Leicester, Leeds and Glasgow and is the first of 10 restaurants planned by the company in the next year.
