Italian restaurant group Macellaio RC has relaunched its Southwark site as nose to tail dining restaurant Osteria del Macellaio.

Officially launching tomorrow, the Union Street venue will offer a simple menu that is focused on 'parts of the cow that are rarely used'.

Dishes will include arancino ‘cacio and pepe’; lard on toast; lasagna al forno; minestrone alla Genovese; spezzatino with potatoes; angus tonnato; trippa accomodata; and chicken liver paté.

Guests will be able to choose any three dishes for £29 per person. Roberto Costa says he and his executive chef Lello Favuzzi have created the menu so ‘food enthusiasts in the UK can experience a true Italian experience without compromises' that offered diners a way of 'being sustainable at a low and cost-effective price’.

“I wanted to bring London a slice of my eating experiences from my home,” says Costa. “Offering a sustainable way of eating with a variety of choice of high-quality meat without any compromise at the most competitive price, and that’s why I’m bringing in the Osteria del Macellaio menu for everyone to enjoy.

Macellaio RC has restaurants in South Kensington, Exmouth Market, Soho, Fitzrovia and Battersea.

Earlier this month Costa teased the launch of an ‘ultra seasonal’ restaurant in Canary Wharf that will put British fish and game centre stage.

Fish Game is expected to launch in Spring within an as yet unknown location.
