Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) is continuing the rollout of its restaurant and takeaway brand The Restaurant Hub with a further opening in a Sainsbury’s supermarket.

The group will this month open the concept at the retail giant’s Carpet Trades Way store in in Kidderminster following the closure of its cafe last year.

BRG’s The Restaurant Hub combines eat-in, takeaway and home delivery across its dining brands Caffè Carluccio’s, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), Slim Chickens, Ed’s Easy Diner and Harry Ramsden’s.

The launch follows openings within Sainsbury’s supermarkets at Selly Oak in Birmingham, Sydenham, and Wolverhampton and comes as a result of the supermarket chain announcing last year that it would close its cafes in 200 of its stores.

BRG debuted The Restaurant Hub in July 2021 at Selly Oak, announcing at the time that it had ambitious plans for the multi-faceted approach.

“The Restaurant Hub brings our and our partner’s most popular brands together in one place, offering diners the chance to access an array of signature dishes and to mix and match all their favourites in one meal occasion,” said Satnam Leihal, managing director at Boparan Restaurant Group, at the time of the launch.

“We have ambitious growth plans and are actively looking for city centre, travel hub and neighbourhood sites across our brands.”

BRG says its plans to open 30 The Restaurant Hubs in Sainsbury’s supermarkets over the coming year.
