Franchise holder Mason and M is already planning a further site in the capital as well as a location in Cambridge and will have the option to enter into a master agreement for the UK.
On 19A Rupert Street, the site Angry Crab Shack was most recently Asian restaurant Skewered & Beer.
Founded in 2013 by Ron Lou, Angry Crab Shack has grown to 19 locations across the US - five company-owned and 14 franchised - and has more sites planned in California, Georgia, Washington, Utah and Texas.
Angry Crab Shack draws on Asian and Cajun flavours, with menu options including soups and salads, sandwiches and highly-customisable seafood boils.
“We are honored and humbled to open Angry Crab Shack’s first international location in the United Kingdom. We can’t wait to share this unique, fun seafood concept with our British guests,” said Lucy Liang of Mason and M.
“We know the brand will stand out in in London’s dining scene thanks to its delicious food, community initiatives and family-friendly dining experience. With Angry Crab Shack’s strong growth and efficient operational systems, we are confident that they will prove to be an asset in our investment portfolio.”
President of Angry Crab Shack Andy Diamond added: “We are excited that Mason and M has identified Angry Crab Shack as their next venture. London’s diverse dining scene, that features foods from all over the world, makes it an ideal market for Angry Crab Shack’s first location internationally. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to delight London residents with our endless combinations of Cajun and Asian flavored seafood boils and are looking forward to growing throughout the country.”
