Oren Delicatessen follows on from the success of Oren’s eponymous restaurant up the road in Dalston and the publication of first cookbook (which is also named Oren).
Customers will be able to purchase Oren staples including hummus, preserved lemons, and house-cured fish alongside freshly-baked challahs and pitas and a wide range of natural and low-intervention wines.
Full meals for reheating will also be available, including chicken kofte with turmeric; and seasonal fish with traditional Libyan chraime sauce.
Oren says the new venture - which will trade from 10am to 7pm Tuesday to Sunday - is the realisation of long-term ambition: “I’m very much looking forward to this new project which has been in the pipeline for quite some time now. We were fortunate to trial this concept through our lockdown takeaway offering at Oren restaurant and the love and support we’ve received from customers convinced me that this is the logical next step for Oren. Cooking family-style food is my passion and I’m looking forward to bringing a taste of Tel Aviv to Broadway market.”
Located on Ada Street, just off Broadway Market itself, Oren Delicatessen joins a burgeoning independent culinary scene of ‘like-minded small businesses celebrating good, honest food’.
Oren worked at a number of Tel Aviv’s best restaurants including Turkiz and Food Art. His debut solo restaurant Oren launched on Dalston’s Shacklewell Lane in 2019 serving Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates from a charcoal grill and low intervention wines from small growers.
