The Japanese barbecue concept has over 260 sites across China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia.
Its offer is tight, focused on yakiniku (grilled meat) that’s cooked by the diner on smokeless table grills served with accompaniments including rice, seaweed soup and kimchi.
Specialist leisure and property agency Shelley Sandzer helped owner Dining Innovation Group secure a 2,200 sq ft site on Soho’s Greek Street.
“We are very pleased to be bringing Yakiniku Like to Europe, and what a better place to launch than in London,” says CEO of Dining Innovation UK, which also operates another Japanese barbecue brand called Kintan which has two sites in central London.
“Shelley Sandzer provided us with invaluable advice and were able to secure us a prime site in one of the busiest and most engaging F&B hubs in the capital. We believe our concept will be well received, suiting an array of lifestyles including individual visits and family occasions.”
Nick Weir, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, added: “As a leading and dynamic agency with unparalleled knowledge of the hospitality sector, we understand what brands are looking for, especially when they make their entrance to previously unknown territory.”
“Yakinuku Like Soho will provide a quick and efficient service where taste and flavour are not compromised, fitting in seamlessly with the broad mix of F&B concepts that we’ve helped secure over the years within the once again bustling Soho.”
