He was most recently head chef at Birmingham’s Michelin-starred Adam’s restaurant and has a top-flight CV that includes stints at London’s Hide and a number of high profile international restaurants including Maaemo and Mugaritz.
In an Instagram post Evelyn’s Table - which is owned by Layo and Zoë Paskin - wished Selby well and announced that Goodyear would be cooking at the counter restaurant from 17 January 2023 with bookings going live on 1 December.
“After three brilliant years with us, including many highlights such as Evelyn’s Table being awarded a Michelin star, the Selby brothers are moving on. Luke, Nathaniel and Theodore are heading to Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, where Luke will take up the position of executive head chef. We’re so proud of everything they have achieved and have loved working with them. We wish them all the very best in their new roles!"
Earlier today (23 November), it was revealed that Selby had left Evelyn’s Table after three years to oversee the kitchen at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons as executive head chef.
Evelyn’s Table launched just ahead of the pandemic and therefore had a difficult start but has been well-received, winning a Michelin star earlier this year.
In addition, Selby and his brothers Nathaniel and Theo - who cooked with him at Evelyn’s Table and will follow him to Le Manoir - won Michelin’s Young Chef Award.
Accessed via an alley off the Chinatown end of Rupert Street, Evelyn’s Table is in the basement of The Blue Posts pub, which is also owned by the Paskins.
