A new retail village that will be home to a café and restaurant as well as a food hall, retail outlets and an event space will open in Cambridgeshire next spring.

Ben's Yard will be located in Ely, near Cambridge, on the 2,500-acre Stuntney Estate, a former island in the floodplains of the fens and will also have five kilometres of marked trails and a two-kilometre loop designed with wheelchairs, bikes and buggies in mind.

The development’s food and drink offer will come in the form of Ben’s Yard Café, an all-day venue that will serve a menu of modern British and international classics using seasonal and locally produced food. Open seven days a week, the venue will have an interior that features a wooden floor, hanging foliage and a neutral colour palette as well as a bar area and an outdoor terrace equipped with heaters and umbrellas.

The development will also be home to food and drink outlet Ben’s Yard Larder, which will sell food to go, including salads, pizzas, sandwiches, sausage rolls, and cakes alongside food gifting items, confectionery, jams, and condiments.

Ben’s Yard is founded by Alastair Morbey, whose family has farmed the Stuntney Estate for five generations, and his wife Victoria.
