MEATliquor has closed it restaurant at Boxpark Croydon after six years of trading.

The restaurant group has exited the shipping container venue, which launched next door to East Croydon station in 2016.

A statement from Boxpark says: “After six years of trading at Boxpark Croydon as one of the site’s earliest restaurants, MEATliquor has ended their tenancy agreement as per their break clause.”

MEATliquor was part of the original lineup of operators at Boxpark Croydon when it opened alongside brands such as The Breakfast Club and Chilango.

The restaurant group continues to operate popular venues in London in Oxford Circus, East Dulwich, Queensway, Shoreditch, Bloomsbury, Battersea and Islington as well as in Leeds and Brighton. It also operates pub The Dartmouth Arms pub in Forest Hill that incorporates MEATliquor.

Recent entrants to Boxpark Croydon include virtual fried chicken brand Sides, which opened its second bricks and mortar restaurant later at the venue in September.
