Paper Moon, which opened its original restaurant in the heart of Milan’s fashion district in 1977, is billed as being the 'first independent restaurant' confirmed to be taking up residency at the hotel development that's housed within the Old War Office building and is to be managed by Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
Set within one of the grand heritage spaces of The OWO, overlooking Horse Guards Avenue, Paper Moon will serve an all-day menu of classic Italian dishes alongside a drinks menu featuring contemporary takes on traditional Italian cocktails and a selection of more than 100 wines from regions across Europe.
The space has been designed around the warmth of an Italian house – with olive trees and greenery set within the restaurant, warm terracotta colours, and bespoke materials including Travertine marble, brass and mesh throughout the bar, restaurant and private dining space.
“We are thrilled to be part of the collection of exciting new restaurant openings at The OWO,” says Claudio Bertoni, co-owner of Paper Moon, which also operates sites in Qatar, the Algarve, Istanbul and Hong Kong.
“Through our focus on home-style dishes and attentive service, Paper Moon has built an incredibly loyal following around the world. Our London debut will be a stylish destination where diners can join us for a culinary journey through Italy.”
First announced back in 2017, The OWO will mark the London debut of Raffles and comprise a total of nine restaurant spaces and three bar areas, alongside a 120 room hotel and 85 private residences.
Lastyear it was announced that three of the restaurants set to launch at The OWO will be overseen by acclaimed Argentine-born chef Mauro Colagreco, whose flagship restaurant Mirazur in Menton, France, was voted the best in the world at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2019.
