Kray Treadwell is to extend his Digbeth restaurant 670 Grams to increase the number of covers it can do.

The restaurant will expand into the site next door to create a new bar area and private dining space as well as additional seating in the upstairs dining room. The kitchen will double in size, and the restaurant will increase from 16 to 26 covers. The majority of the tables will subsequently be upstairs, with guests able to have their table for the entire evening.

Diners will also for the first time be able to visit the bar for drinks and bar snacks without a table booking, and the new PDR will be able to seat 10-12 guests.

670 Grams serves an ever-changing menu that takes in a mix of European influences and Asian-inspired flavours and which is available to view 48 hours earlier on the restaurant’s website. The enlarged kitchen will allow for more courses to be added to the restaurant’s tasting menu, which are yet to be revealed.

“I am so excited to announce that we will be extending 670 Grams. The new additions and extra space will allow us to keep creating and serving food that is accessible as possible,” says Treadwell.

“My aim has always been to bring my electric take on food to as many people as possible, and it is important that this continues. Our menu represents amazing value and our location on the Digbeth Estate means we are in the midst of a great mix of retail, residential and creative businesses. We can’t wait to welcome people into the new space and to introduce 670 Grams to an even bigger audience.”

670 Grams opened on Gibb Street within the Digbeth Estate in August 2020 and takes its named  from the weight of Treadwell’s daughter when she was born four months prematurely.

Treadwell is a Great British Menu finalist and was awarded the Michelin Young Chef Award Great Britain & Ireland in 2021.
