Urban Pubs and Bars reaches 40 sites including the birthplace of Camden Town Brewery.
Urban Pubs and Bars has added three new London pubs to its portfolio, including the venue that was the birthplace of Camden Town Brewery.

The venues - the Queens Head, formerly the Goose Island site in Shoreditch; Monarchy in Camden town and The Horseshoe in Hampstead, where Camden Town brewery began – take the number of sites Urban Pub and Bars to 40.

“We have been looking at these sites for some time and are delighted to further increase our presence in these attractive locations in east and north London,” says Nick Pring, co-founder of Urban Pubs and Bars.

The purchases retain momentum for the pub group in the capital. Last month it opened bar and kitchen Nest in London’s Bishopsgate, a two-storey site with a capacity for 220 guests.

Urban Pubs & Bars was founded in 2014 by Pring and Malcolm Heap and has grown to an estate of 20 pubs, bars and restaurants across London, including the acquisition of Salt Yard Group in 2018. Its other venues include Paradise by way of Kensal Green, Well Street Pizza in Hackney, The Gatehouse in Highgate, and The Wheatsheaf in Tooting.

“We are excited to enter this new phase of expansion with the acquisition of these three iconic venues, their positions are a natural fit with our existing portfolio, and we look forward to welcoming their amazing people to the Urban family,” adds Heap.
