Israeli-born chef Eran Tibi will launch a follow-up to his Southwark restaurant Bala Baya early next year.

Billed as Tibi and team’s new flagship, Kapara will be located within Ilona Rose House, a mixed-use redevelopment of the old Foyle’s site on the eastern edge of Soho.

The restaurant will take inspiration from the sights and sounds of Tel Aviv’s rooftop bars and the sun-bleached streets of the city’s artistic neighbourhood Neve Tzedek.

It will comprise a 50-cover alfresco terrace, a lounge and bar area and a 70-cover main ground floor restaurant with a raised stage for live music and performances.

Kapara will also boast a destination basement level space which will encompass a further dining room and six-seater counter, both of which can be transformed into a private dining area.

‘Personally created and developed’ by Eran Tibi, the menu will be made up of ‘elevated Israeli-inspired’ dishes.

The drinks programme will include a selection of Israeli wines and a special menu infusing soda, botanical herbs and fresh exotic fruits.

Tibi launched Bala Baya in Southwark's Old Union Street Arches in 2017 having previously worked at Ottolenghi.

Ilona Rose House is a 300,000 sq ft mixed use scheme, developed by Soho Estates.

The building has been designed by MATT Architecture and offers 150,000sq ft of office space, 14,000sq ft of retail fronting Charing Cross Road and a new public courtyard with 15,000sq ft of restaurant and bar space.
