The restaurant group, which owns high street brands including Harry Ramsden’s, Caffè Carluccio’s, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Slim Chickens and Ed’s Easy Diner has opened its second Restaurant Hub inside the south London superstore.
The restaurant combines eat-in, takeaway and home delivery across the dining brands and follows the successful trial of the concept at Sainsbury’s Selly Oak store in Birmingham.
A third The Restaurant Hub is due to open later this month in Wolverhampton at Sainsbury's St Marks superstore.
The openings are part of BRG’s plans to open 30 Restaurant Hubs in Sainsbury’s supermarkets over the coming year.
In a separate move into retail, BRG has also just opened its first Slim Chickens restaurant under a new partnership with Tesco Extra. The fried chicken restaurant, located at the supermarket giant's Redditch superstore, has space for 68 covers.
As well as in-restaurant dining, the Redditch restaurant will offer click and collect, takeaway and delivery with customers able to download the Slim Chickens app to earn reward points when they dine.
Satnam Leihal, CEO at Boparan Restaurant Group, will be part of a panel at this November's The Omnichannel Foodservice Conference. For more details and to attend, click here.
