Opening on 15 September, the 40-bedroom hotel will occupy a Victorian property opposite Margate’s famous Grade II listed sea bathing pool. It will be the first UK property to showcase Selina’s successful HOWM (pronounced HOME) restaurant concept that has been trialled successfully in North and Latin America and will also have an all-weather beer garden.
In addition, the Margate hotel will be the site of its debut Selina Arts Supper club which, alongside the hotel’s restaurant and bar, will every month see the venue transformed into a purpose-built space for a limited period to host guest chefs and pop ups events as well as exhibitions, live music, workshops and talks.
Selina hotel group targets Millennial and Gen Z travellers and operates hotels in Brighton, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester as well as its flagship property in London. The group says its approach is to partner with local artists and breathe new life into existing buildings.
