Opening in Kensal Rise on 26 September, the waterside restaurant and café will have space for 85 covers inside as well as 24 outside on the on the ground floor canal side terrace. It will offer three menus including a children’s menu, and a ‘one-handed’ menu for members and walk-in guests who have young children.
Militsopoulos has created an all-day menu that will include baked eggs with butter beans, chorizo and chard; and courgette and mint fritters with herb labne and baked king prawns with garlic, lemon and parsley; as well as range of baguettes and small bites. The children’s menu will feature dishes such as coconut milk porridge with a choice of toppings; egg and soldiers; and chicken and pumpkin seed ‘satay’.
The restaurant will also serve a one-handed menu for those breastfeeding or handling children, allowing guests the ability to eat with ease. Menu items will include San Daniele ham, seasonal mushrooms, artichokes and lemon thyme pizza; watermelon, cucumber, mint, feta and black olive salad; and Jersey milk rice pudding ripple with late summer berries and roast peaches.
“We wanted to create fuss-free healthy food for the whole family to enjoy. I sense the restaurant will be the real hub of Jaego’s House and I want members and walk-in guests to be able to drop in for a coffee, a quick bite or a sit-down lunch – with the whole family,” says Militsopoulos.
“We have spent a lot of time creating a menu that really caters for all, and I cannot wait for members to try it.”
Jaego’s House will be the first venture for The Little Houses Group and is described as a ‘family club that offers annual memberships as well as ‘pay and play’ options. A milk bar will be located on the ground floor where guests can purchase ready-made formula bottles, store milk and heat up bottles while in the soft play area, parents can enjoy a glass of wine from a wine dispenser.
Additional facilities will include soft play and Jungle Gym, a crèche, kids club, a kids’ cinema, gym, co-work spaces and treatment rooms.
