JKS Restaurants to open an Arcade food hall at Battersea Power Station next year
Details are limited at this point, but the site will be 24,000 sq ft - nearly twice the size of the original Arcade which opened at London's Centre Point earlier this year.
The influential, rapidly growing group says it will create a ‘number of exciting new brands’ that will showcase ‘even more global cuisines’.
Alongside this, there will be three standalone restaurants including one from the JKS Restaurants-backed Bao, which was a surprising omission from the line up of the first Arcade.
The move cements JKS Restaurants - which is run by siblings Karam, Jyotin and Sunaina Sethi - status as London's most ambitious and creative restaurant group.
"We’re looking forward to opening Arcade at Battersea Power Station next year," says JKS Restaurant creative director Karam. "We will be creating a number of exciting new brands which showcase even more global cuisines, while also expanding and developing some of our existing Arcade brands, to create a food and drink destination south of the river worth travelling for.’
Brands at the first Arcade - which is located moments from Tottenham Court Road tube station - include Hero Indian Fast Food, serving North Indian street food classics; shawarma from Shatta & Toum; sushi and omakase from Sushi Kamon; and Nepalese food from Tipan Tapan.
Chef Luke Farrell now oversees three concepts at the venue - a full-service Southern Thai restaurant called Plaza Khao Gaeng on the mezzanine floor that accepts reservations, as well as Indonesian street food kitchen Bebek! Bebek! and bánh mì concept Viet Populaire.
Other options include burgers from Manna, desserts from Bompas & Parr’s new Benham & Froud Jelladrome brand; and Arcade Provisions, which serves a selection of sandwiches created by Margot and Hector Henderson.
JKS has introduced much needed tech throughout the venue that allows guests to order direct-to-table from each of the restaurant kitchens and bar, via QR codes present on their menus, making it easier for groups to eat together and creating a less frantic and more relaxed - yet vibey - environment as a result.
