In an announcement today (2 August), Parle and his business partner Liam Nelson confirmed that the restaurant had shut and that staff there had all been offered jobs at the original Pastaio on Soho's Ganton Street, which will remain open.
The closure is a further blow to Parle's restaurant empire, which has been hit hard by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to the first lockdown in March 2020, the chef also owned British restaurant Craft London in Greenwich, Palatino in Clerkenwell, and French restaurant Sardine in Hoxton, all of which have now closed.
Pastaio launched in Soho in 2017 and was part of what Parle previously described as the 'better pasta movement'.
It opened its Westfield site, its second bricks and mortar location, in 2019.
In the summer of 2020, Parle launched floral restaurant and retail concept JOY in the London location that was once home to his beloved Dock Kitchen.
At the time he hoped to secure a long-term tenure of the site, but was subsequently forced to vacate the space last year.
JOY has since pivoted to being a pop up concept, although it is understood that Parle hopes to find another permanent location for it in the future.
