Look inside the new look Five star London hotel The Dorchester
The Dorchester has provided a glimpse of what its refurbished areas will look like when they are reopened to the public in September.

While the hotel has remained open throughout the refurbishment - its first major one in more than 30 years - areas including its cocktail bar, the hotel entrance, The Promenade, and guest rooms and suites have been redesigned.

A new Cake & Flowers boutique has also been unveiled as part of the redesign.

The five-star hotel’s bar has been redesigned by Martin Brudnizki to have ‘movie star looks’ and has been given a new layout that has created a dedicated Park Lane entrance and an outside terrace. The bar’s ornate design will include a 1930s Palladium leaf ceiling and a series of Cecil Beaton pieces honouring the long-standing connection between the photographer and the hotel.

The space will now have an upper area and snug.

Cake & Flowers will be a new concept in the hotel and will combine flowers with the creations of newly appointed executive pastry chef Michael Kwan. It will serve signature pastries and cakes to take away as well as gift hampers, floral bouquets and a selection of champagnes and artisan chocolates.

The newly refurbished Promenade will once again be home to The Dorchester’s afternoon tea with a new area set will be unveiled towards the end of The Promenade serving champagne and seafood and offering entertainment.

The hotel has remained open for guests throughout the renovation with its afternoon tea served in the Orchid Room and a Mediterranean restaurant on its rooftop running throughout the summer. Its The Grill, Alain Ducasse and China Tang restaurants will remain unchanged.

Last month the hotel auctioned off more than 2,000 items, the first time it has done so in its 100-year history.
