Hotel company The Coaching Inn Group has acquired Forest Park Hotel in the town of Brockenhurst in the New Forest for an undisclosed sum.

The 40-room hotel was recently refurbished following investment and joins the group’s portfolio that also includes The Kings Arms and Royal Hotel in Godalming, Surrey; The Wynnstay Hotel & Spa in Owestry, Shropshire; The Crown Hotel in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire; The Rutland Arms Hotel in the Peak District; and The Golden Fleece Hotel in Thirsk, north Yorkshire.

The Coaching Inn Group was taken over last year by RedCat, the investment vehicle founded and chaired by former Greene King chief executive Rooney Anand.

“This is an excellent country inn and hotel, lavishly furnished and decorated and we’re delighted to make it the latest addition in our high-quality portfolio of inns, which has expanded rapidly thanks to RedCat’s support,” says Kevin Charity, chief executive of The Coaching Inn Group.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to grow our portfolio at pace.”

The sale was conducted by real estate advisor Savills. “We are delighted to complete the sale of Forest Park following a competitive and confidential marketing process, in which we received significant interest, to The Coaching Inn Group,” says James Greenslade, director in the hotel capital markets team at Savills.

“We would like to wish them every success with this latest addition to their growing portfolio.”
