The new location on Watford High Street will be the group's 12th site and is expected to create approximately 20 new job opportunities for crew members and restaurant management roles.
Chipotle positions itself as serving 'food with integrity', with a menu that includes burritos, bowls, tacos and salads that are free from artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
“We are thrilled to introduce our craveable food with integrity to the Watford community,” says Jacob Sumner, director of European operations.
“The new location will also bring additional career opportunities to these areas for residents interested in cultivating a better world through real food.”
Chipotle made its UK debut on London’s Charing Cross Road in 2010. A flurry of openings in central London followed, but its growth soon stalled.
In early 2019, Chipotle opened its first UK restaurant in three and a half years in the City of London, having previously left a two year gap between openings.
Then in February last year, Chipotle chief executive Brian Niccol revealed that the group was considering plans to further grow its UK portfolio. Since then it has opened three further London sites, including in Chiswick.
Chipotle has more than 3,000 restaurants globally across the US, Canada, the UK, France and Germany and claims to be the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all its restaurants.
