The team behind Brighton restaurant Socialite are launching a second restaurant next month, in Canterbury.

The rooftop restaurant will sit atop the city’s six-storey Hampton by Hilton Hotel on St Margaret’s Street and will have space for more than 100 diners.

The steak-led restaurant will have a number of dining areas as well as a chefs table and a large roof terrace with panoramic views of Canterbury cathedral and the city.

“We guarantee Socialite will be the ultimate new location in Canterbury, perfect for a luxury dining experience,” says Socialite Canterbury co-founder Adam Elliott.

“The city has an up-and-coming thriving food scene, and we have been looking at locations that we believe guests will want an experience to go along with their dining.”

The first Socialite opened in the South Lanes area of Brighton last year with the kitchen headed up by business director and chef Barry Vera.

Lunchtime menu items include a number of all-day breakfast dishes as well as a burger, steak tartare, and fish and chips while in the evening it moves to a menu that features a range of steaks and grills such as roast chicken, beef rib and pork chops.

Socialite Canterbury will open on 1 July.
