Poke House to open five more 'Instagrammable' restaurants in London this year
Poke House will open five more restaurants in London this year.

The Italian-founded poke bowl brand, which has just opened a flagship restaurant in Covent Garden, says its new 'Instagrammable houses' will open in Battersea Power Station, Borough Market, St. Paul’s, St John’s Wood and Mayfair over the coming months.

the company says it is also looking at a site in Kingston to kickstart its expansion outside of the capital.

Poke House was founded in November 2018 by Matteo Pichi and Vittoria Zanetti and opened in London in September last year. It now operates seven sites in the capital, in Covent Garden, Canary Wharf, Bank, Notting Hill, Victoria, Spitalfields, and Fitzrovia.

“Covent Garden has always been one of our key areas to open a Poke House in. Not only does it have huge footfall but some of the world’s most impressive brands are also in the area, so, to be open in such an iconic area is truly an amazing testament to where we have come,” says Pichi.

“We opened in London in September last year and it’s now very quickly becoming one of our key cities across the globe. We’re also opening further sites across the capital and cannot wait to see how the locals take to our delicious poke bowls.”

The brand, which claims to be Europe’s largest poke bowl brand with 100 restaurants worldwide, has previously said that it intends to open 65 UK sites in the next two years, with the bulk of its estate expected to eventually be focused outside of London.

While the company currently has no bricks and mortar presence outside of London it does service customers via delivery.

“Having a bricks and mortar presence is very important to our business model, however, we are available on Deliveroo outside of London expanding our reach to our Poke House customer," adds Pichi. "We have a large consumer following in Cambridge and are currently looking to sign terms on a physical site in Kingston, Surrey, to meet the public demands of our product.

“We’re constantly looking to grow our brand in the UK. Our ultimate aim is to ensure Poke House is available to all our loyal followers within all major cities in the UK.”

Earlier this year it also announced plans to launch an IPO in the UK as part of plans to expand nationwide.
