Called Zephyr, the Grecian restaurant and bar will open on Notting Hill’s Portobello Road and will have a ground floor restaurant and a 32-seat cocktail bar below.
The kitchen will be led by Greek South American executive chef John Skotidas, former executive chef of Mazi restaurants and Suzi Tros in London and co-owner and culinary director of Egg Run. #
Menu items will include carpaccio of seabass with lemon-oil dashi and bottarga; otoro toast with cream and black caviar; whole smoked aubergine with citrus yogurt and dukkah; giant butter beans baked in tomato sauce with feta finished in a wood oven.
Other plates will include salt-baked beetroots dressed in fresh herbs, pesto and home-made soft cheese; steamed mussels with dill and kaffir lime; and a variety of whole charcoal grilled fish to share and carved on the table.
The colourful dining room takes inspiration from Notting Hill’s characteristic colourful houses and will have an exposed marble kitchen, while the downstairs cocktail bar (pictured) will have a more minimalistic style combined with a monochromatic colour palette.
Named after the Greek god of the west wind, Zephyr will be the fourth restaurant in the Pachamama Group, which also runs Pachamama Bar + Kitchen, Chicama and Pachamama East in the capital.
