Boxpark will open the first London location for it BoxHall sibling brand in the City next year.

Due to open in summer 2023, BoxHall City will be an all-day social dining experience including food, drink and events located at the historic Metropolitan Arcade building close to Liverpool Street station.

The 17,000sq ft building has a ground floor and a small pre-existing mezzanine with 266 covers and will have 16 kitchen units, and two internal bars, subject to planning permission.

Boxpark has agreed a 15-year lease with TfL, the site’s freehold owners, for the building, which first opened in 1912.

The new site will be the second venue under the BoxHall brand, the first of which will open in Bristol in June. The company says that further sites will be announced later this year.

“We are delighted to sign this new BoxHall site with TfL in the heart of the City, where Boxpark was born 10 years ago. We are excited to repurpose the building and make it home to a premium Food, Beer and Music Hall – BoxHall, whilst retaining its character and feel,” says Boxpark founder and CEO Roger Wade.

The company first announced it would debut BoxHall in Bristol back in 2021 with the venues designed to be smaller F&B focused destinations than the main Boxparks.
