Its latest, 60-cover restaurant will open on Church Street in Stoke Newington on 15 April 2022. A further venue will open in South Quay in Canary Wharf later this summer.
Owners Claudio Vescovo and Gianluca D’Angelo gave collaborated with east London street artist Alo to create his own version of the real life Aunt Lucia, which will be displayed in the new restaurant as a permanent feature.
Zia Lucia is known for its pizzas made with 48-hour slow-fermented doughs, including traditional white flour, wholemeal, gluten free and vegetable charcoal black base. Since launching in Islington in 2016 it has grown to have sites in Balham, Aldgate East, Hammersmith, Boxpark Wembley, and Wandsworth.
The group also runs a pizza school at its Boxpark Wembley location that aims to train pizzaiolos up within six weeks ahead of guaranteed employment at the group, and operates hand-made fresh pasta concept Berto next door to Islington pizzeria.
"As a location, Stoke Newington was a true priority for us and a place close to our hearts. After opening in Balham last December, we are excited to venture towards east London and bring our four different doughs to this neighbourhood,” says Vescovo.
“Our passion is exactly the same as it was when we started Zia Lucia in 2016 and this opening is a key step for our brand vision".
"Despite the extremely challenging environment we continue to experience, from staff shortage to supply chain price increase to energy and gas bills going to the roof, we believe our formula and USP remain a strong foundation of our success,” adds D’Angelo.
“We are making a huge effort to grow without compromising our quality and we are so proud of our staff who continue to deliver a great experience to our treasured customers."
