While social media continues to be a cost-effective way of targeting consumers, it is increasingly being used by restaurant businesses as a tool to recruit prospective employees.

In less than three weeks’ time, MCA and BigHospitality’s hospitality technology conference Hostech will host a panel session looking at how brands are not only harnessing platforms such as Instagram and TikTok to get customers through the door but using it to help their businesses in other ways.

Libby Andrews from Pho, Ben Hibbard from Turtle Bay and Nish Bhattarai from Pizza Pilgrims, will discuss how their businesses keep pace with the fast-moving world of digital media at the conference being held in central London on 27 April.

Andrews will also share how Pho has recently gone viral with its TikTok recruitment videos, helping to reach a younger cohort of the workforce.

Hostech will also explore how brands are leveraging the data they gather from the digital technologies that have become a central part of their operations.

A panel hosted by MCA contributing editor Peter Martin will examine how businesses are capturing customer data in order to drive sales through targeted marketing, boost operational efficiency and inform effective menu engineering.

Erica Livermore from Fridays, Hannah Berry from Corbin & King and Nick Liddle from Vita Mojo will share their thoughts on this panel.

Also at Hostech will be keynote sessions from Pret, Itsu, KFC, Sunday, Reef Technology and Taster.
