The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards will return this summer with an exclusive event being held on Monday 13 June.

The annual awards, run by Restaurant by BigHospitality, are one of the highlights in the hospitality calendar and see the reveal of the top 100 restaurants in the UK as voted for by the country’s leading chefs, restaurateurs, food writers, critics and other industry experts.

The awards will this year return to The Hurlingham Club, London’s most beautiful private members club, having been held last year at The Stratford hotel in east London.

The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards has an elite and authoritative judging academy, using a panel of over 200 experts drawn from across the industry including food writers, chefs and restaurateurs.

The UK is split into 11 regions, with members of the academy voting for the top seven restaurants that they have dined at in the last 12 months, weighted in order of preference. The results are compiled, and the top 100 list of the best restaurants is created.

As well as revealing the best restaurants from across the UK, the awards will also recognise talent in a number of categories, including Chef of the Year, Restaurateur of the Year, Chef to Watch, and Opening of the Year.

There will also be awards for Wine List of the Year, and The Service Award.

Shortlists for the Chef of the Year, Restaurateur of the Year, Chef to Watch, and Opening of the Year will be published soon.

Last year’s event took place on 16 August with Moor Hall in Lancashire claiming the top spot for the second consecutive year, Andrew Wong being named Chef of the Year, and Tom Booton named as Chef to Watch.
