Burger & Lobster founder Misha Zelman and former The Fat Duck Group sales and marketing professional Ben Hedley have launched a £15m Series A funding round to fun the growth of their multi-cuisine kitchen, and grocery concept Neyba.

Following a successful investment round the brand plans to reach 14 London sites across the capital including Chelsea, Clapham, Hampstead, Islington, Wimbledon Village and Dulwich.

Neyba opened in Notting Hill in January and sees chefs including Tony Singh, Miguel Barclay, Yoko Nakada, and sushi master Endo Kazotushi create a collaborative menu. As well as being able to buy the meals, customers can try the chefs’ recipes and buy ingredients from their dishes as well as other grocery items.

The ‘smart kitchens’ have been designed and supported by proprietary tech that gives the brand the ability to cook up to eight cuisines from one kitchen. Each dish on the menu can be prepared in under six minutes.

Since its launch, Neyba has experienced strong financial growth, according to the company.

Some of the investment will be put towards what the company calls its ‘tech eco system’, which will include a customer-facing app that will give customers opportunities to reduce their food waste and save time.
